Maurice Courtemanche of Pittsford passed away on September 8, 2020 at age 98. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen, sister Yvonne (Evie) Lynch, brothers Roland and Lionel. Survived by his children Nancy Martin Bock (Richard), Gail Courtemanche (Robert Romanow), Susan Dailey (Kevin), Laura Teall, Gregg Courtemanche (Allie), brother Clarence, grandchildren: Scott Martin, Laurie Feinberg, Andrea Walsh, Kelly Grenzer, Molly, Miranda, and Zachary Courtemanche, great grandchildren: Katie and Anna Walsh, Tanner and Davis Grenzer, sisters-in-law Millie Courtemanche, Rosemary Oesterly, Cathy Connaughton, and brother-in-law Raymond Gendron, many nieces and nephews. Maurice (also known as Court or Moe) was born in Fitchburg, MA. in 1922. At age 7 his family moved to East Rochester where his father was employed at The Piano Works. Maurice attended Rochester Business Institute before serving in the Army Ambulance Corp during World War II. He married Helen Connaughton, the love of his life, and they raised their five children on a quiet street in Pittsford, NY. He worked as accountant for Giordano Lumber for many years before retiring in Florida where brothers Clarence and Roland lived. Maurice loved his time spent with family. He enjoyed golf, cards with his brothers, croquet, baseball—and corn. Anyone he knew would say he was especially kind--with an easy and unassuming manner. We all will miss him very much. A private memorial service will be held for family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may donate to Hildebrandt Hospice Center.
