I always appreciated being with Jim, certainly back in the Pepsi-Cola days, but also the times I'd run into him since then. He always seemed upbeat, thoughtful and kind. My condolences to Joan and your family.

Joan and family,
We were shocked to ready this. Jim was a constant face in the community.
Always at his corner as crossing guard as we passed. It felt right that he was there for the children. He coached our Mark in football and shaped boys for their future. He had high life standards to pass along to the boys. Jim was a one of a kind, so privileged to have known him and your family. Our deepest condolences.

Jim was strong, staunch, loyal, dependable, and a patriot, who loved and served his country, school and community. We, his neighbors on West Hickory, are saddened and will miss his daily walks with his dog, his friendliness and cheery chats. Jim Forrest was a "great guy, a community treasure.

Joan, LeeAnne and family,
Sometimes people are so special that you can't imagine they'll ever leave us. Jim has had such a lasting impression on so many people growing up in the East Rochester community, from mentoring future athletes through his wonderful coaching style to mentoring and supporting the children he helped cross the most difficult and dangerous intersection on their way to and from school each day. He treated everyone the same, with kindness, respect, always ready to listen and lend a helping hand when needed. Jim will be missed by not only his family, but by a multitude of others he has touched over the years.
With our sympathy,
Todd, Andrea and Chad Hahn

So sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. He was a fine man that I was pleased to meet when he was a messenger at the Monroe County Clerk’s Office. He thoroughly loved and enjoyed his family and always had a story to tell involving his grandchildren. I was new to ER and I could always rely on Jim for both the latest ER news and a history lesson as well. My condolences to his wife and family at this difficult time.

I was saddened to learn of Jim's passing. He was a very fine gentleman, who guided
countless youth and young athletes in a positive and lasting way. When I remember Jim, I will smile when I visualize a t-shirt he wore, with the writing: "Getting old is not
for sissies. …" Jim handled his growing years with a grace and acceptance that was at once humorous and realistic. My sincerest condolences to the family.

Joan, LeeAnn, and families,
So very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was a huge supporter of ER. An upstanding Police Officer and a dedicated youth football coach. I know he will be missed by many. Joan, you certainly were a very dear wife to him. The love the two of you shared with each other was very evident. I know your family will miss him deeply. My dear childhood friend, my heart aches for you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

My condolences to the family and friends of one of the nicest men I’ve ever known.
Coach you meant a ton to me and countless men just like me that you influenced through coaching over the past 40 years. I had the honor of not only being coached by you as a kid but to grow up and coach with you. Without you, I never would have started coaching.
You taught me a ton and I hope to continue to pass those lessons down to other kids and young men. Your selflessness was amazing and inspirational to those around you. East Rochester was lucky to have had a guy like you.
Gone but never forgotten. Love ya Coach
