Obituary of Michael Galante

Penfield - Long time East Rochester native Michael Galante died peacefully at his home on June 27, 2019 at the age of 91. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Eleanor; parents, Jenny and Joseph Galante; brother-in-law, Andy Cort. He is survived by his son, Scott (Cheryl); granddaughter, Anna Marissa; sisters, Yolanda Cort and Marian (Ron) DiMino.
Mike worked for John Hancock Company for 40 years in sales and management. He was an avid golfer and one of the original founders of the Mendon Golf Club. He also served as the club president twice and once as the club champion.
Mike served in World War II as a Navy veteran in the Pacific campaign. He was a member of the East Rochester American Legion, Post 1917.
Over his many years Mike has given much of himself to his friends and loved ones. He will be missed by his many friends and family. Michael’s family would like to thank his care-taking angels for their compassionate care.
No prior calling. Michael’s Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, July 2, 10 AM at St. Jerome’s Church, 207 Garfield St., E. Rochester. Interment White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations in Michael’s name to St. Jerome Church.
